OOTD: Turtlenecks and Faux Denim
As I continue to embark on this fashion blogging journey,
I'm really enjoying getting to know more and more about fabrics. Today, for
instance, I had the privilege (yes, it's that serious) of donning these faux
denim "slacks" from Target's Merona. They were amazing in the area of
comfort. Yes, they LOOK like they're a jeans material, but when I slid them on
I was met with a choir of angels as the SUPER soft material wrapped my thighs
in a warmth only these material could deliver. To the touch, its almost as soft
as cashmere. It pretty wrinkle resistant to (I may have just gotten luck on
that front.)
So what is this magic fabric, you ask? It's called Lyocell,
Because it is made from a plant material, it is cellulosic and possesses many
properties of other cellulose fibers, such as cotton, linen, ramie, and rayon -
another manufactured but non-synthetic fiber. In many ways, lyocell is more
similar to cotton than it is to rayon.Lyocell is similar to that of Modal,
another "wonder fabric" that has all the benefits of natural fibers,
leaving you with an incredibly soft texture, similar to that of silk.
These slacks were definitely a challenge to style. Do I
dress it up? Do it play it down? Don't worry, you'll definitely see more of
these as I try it out. They're too warm and comfy not to.
