OOTD: Over-All Chic

Happy Sunday! Today's outfit post if an ode to the comfort of the 90's fashions, with the effortlessness of a flowy dress. This combo was brought to me straight from City Chic. This overall dress (affectionately called the Soft Hunter Dress) was the perfect love child of comfort. class, and a flattering silhouette all in one bundle. I'm excited to wear it again and again just to show you all how versatile one dress can be. I keep it simple this time with a black shirt, but I know the possibilities are endless. This number is super easy to slip on and off, and the silver accents bring it together perfectly!

I paired the dress with this red cheetah print handbag I got from TJ Maxx. If nobody has every told you about their legendary purse section, I'm telling you. They have something for the understated clutch lover all the way to the dramatic tote holder, in all color and textures, and at the right price! This purse was a step down from my typical suitcase-esque purses, but it definitely did the trick, especially when put together with my wine strappy heels from Go Jane.

OOTD: Turtlenecks and Faux Denim

As I continue to embark on this fashion blogging journey, I'm really enjoying getting to know more and more about fabrics. Today, for instance, I had the privilege (yes, it's that serious) of donning these faux denim "slacks" from Target's Merona. They were amazing in the area of comfort. Yes, they LOOK like they're a jeans material, but when I slid them on I was met with a choir of angels as the SUPER soft material wrapped my thighs in a warmth only these material could deliver. To the touch, its almost as soft as cashmere. It pretty wrinkle resistant to (I may have just gotten luck on that front.)

So what is this magic fabric, you ask? It's called Lyocell, Because it is made from a plant material, it is cellulosic and possesses many properties of other cellulose fibers, such as cotton, linen, ramie, and rayon - another manufactured but non-synthetic fiber. In many ways, lyocell is more similar to cotton than it is to rayon.Lyocell is similar to that of Modal, another "wonder fabric" that has all the benefits of natural fibers, leaving you with an incredibly soft texture, similar to that of silk.

These slacks were definitely a challenge to style. Do I dress it up? Do it play it down? Don't worry, you'll definitely see more of these as I try it out. They're too warm and comfy not to.
