Fashion bucket list item #53526748: A nice, form-fitting, head spinning pants suit.

I realized this year that in addition to my regular vision board with all of my dreams aspirations, and hopes, I also need to add my fashion vision board to that list. I'm going to fill it with all of my wants,. fashion icon inspirations, and outfit to-do's. If I had thought of this a few years ago, an all white suit would have been on this list...FOR SURE.

I had an event the other day. The attire: formal. So in come the last minute mad dash for a nice form-fitting lacy gown (as I do best), and when I came up empty and almost lost hope, my darling mother rushes into the rescue with a pretty risky idea.

"Didn't see you see those suit separates the other day? What if you wore those? How crazy would that be?!"

Now we're talking ball gowns, pressed edges, and the most expensive jewelry. And here I was toying around the idea of wearing a SUIT. But if there's one thing I've learned in my few years in the blogospehere is that fashion is whatever the heck you want it to be. And that night...I wanted it to be an off white suit.

These pieces came from Dress Barn. Another surprise deviation from my normal go-to shop, as Dress Barn always felt a little mature for my tastes. So now I had the task of dressing up a power suit, while not trying to look too mature.

I paired the powerful outfit with this shimmery rose-gold body I scored from Charlotte Russe, as well as this gold chandelier choker.

Top it off with a pop of color on my feet, and I was ready to go head to the ball...in a pants suit. Take THAT dress attire.

Happy Friday everyone!

It's been a windy one this week in PA. The leaves are blowing, my hair is flying, and I'm packing on the layers to battle the piercing wind. I needed something cozy, practically impenetrable, and obviously, stylish to get me through Friday.

In comes this  lace up sweater from INC International Concepts. I scored this by way of a free clothing subscription trial through Gwynnie Bee. Staying stylish on a budget is getting easier and easier! Basically, you search through loads of dresses, pants, and sweaters for what you like best, they send it to your house, and you can wear it as often as you like, send it back (or not), and repeat! This trial has been awesome because it's introduced me to a few plus size brands I'm not familiar with. including INC International Concepts, who blessed me with this awesome sweater.

This stretch knit top features a scoop neck, with easy slip on (the lace-up design is just a chic bonus). I've been going crazy about the lace up. crochet features on designs lately, and this one was just up my alley.

Happy Monday everyone! I'm coming off of a pretty emotional week. And although I can take the time to complain, I'll focus on the excitement of one of my latest modeling gigs. August 12th-14th, was the one year celebratory fashion show for Lehigh Valley Fashion Week, a fashion show that showcases some local fashions by fabulous and unique designers within the Lehigh Valley area and other local areas. This weekend was a monumental one for the founders and visionaries,who started this as an attempt to create a new niche for the fashionable. And what an experience its been! The weekend  saw fashions for everyone of all sizes. Coming off the heels of last season's show in April, I was super excited to be one of only 3 curvy/plus sized models. Designers showcased throughout the show were;

Have you ever gone on an impromptu shopping trip and picked up an item that you would never in a million years think would fit?I had a similar experience to this at my most recent trip to Target (or Tarjay as me and my sisters affectionately call it). As I perused through the clearance section, I came upon the recently coveted plus size line from Target, Ava and Viv.Ava & Viv is new fashion brand designed specifically for plus size woman. The line, designed by Target’s in-house team, offers clothing in sizes 14W to 26W and X to 4X and is currently available in stores and online.Plus size fashionistas rejoice everywhere!

One of the many gems I found in the clearance section (though not from Ava &Viv), was this flowy mid length maternity dress in this nice blushing pink color. Yes...you read that correctly. MATERNITY dress. Prior to my blogging exploits, I would have been embarassed to even breathe "maternity" and "I'm wearing" in the same sentence. But thanks to the Gods of innovation and fashionable fabrics, I say it loud and proud. This dress was also another lesson learned that day: TRY ON YOUR CLOTHES.Being that this was a maternity gown, the midsection area was forigving without compromise style. The shoulder are had this nice raise fabric design. Other than that, the dress was pretty simple, and I adored it. I may have to frequent maternity items more oftten. Sans the state of pregnancy. Happy Monday everyone! I come to you today off the heels of an extremely productive weekend. It was full of meetings, thought provoking discussions, and fun photoshoots! My body is sore,but in a good way. I don't mind being tired so much when I enjoy what I'm doing.

My photo shoot yesterday was a huge thank you from the pioneers and visionaries of Lehigh Valley Fashion Week. What better way to say 'thank you for your hard work' than to add to my portfolio. I had an amazing time picking out my look for this shoot and getting dolled up. Its every girl's dream.

The look I chose for the shoot was a bit of an ode to Marilyn Monroe, queen of bodaciousness and curves. I've always admired her for her unique take on what she wanted to look like, even if that wans't like everyone else. From my hair, straight down to my shoes, I used Marilyn as my muse to create this sexy and flirty commercial look, that showed off my best curves and assets.
