OOTD: Sweater Weather-Part Deuux

Good afternoon everyone! Today I decided on a more structured and professional-esque look. Since I've started working consistently again as a therapist l,I've pulled some of my blazers and wide legs slacks and pants out of the back of my closet to get some more sunlight and use. I also pulled out another sweater to battle against the bitter cold this morning.

These wide leg pants are from New York and Company(way back in the day). What I love about them is the stretchy material that allows for quick movement. The material also makes way for my thunder thighs. Comfort and structure all in one!

This sweater is another hand-me-down from Mom's closet. I've dressed it up and down and it was perfect for the wide legged pants to give off a nice "bossy" look. The cable knit design dresses up the outfit, along with my favorite wide brimmed hat from Lily's Kloset. These hats are all over nowadays. You can find them in all different colors at your favorite eBay shop or on Amazon.

This necklace is from Van Heussen. The details and design are so fun! It makes me think of winter. The hanging pieces remind me of snowflakes.

My shoes are an oldie from Forever 21. Every now and then I go in their stores and can find my size. And anyone who frequents Forever 21 knows that's tough sometimes. The platform piece is chunky, and makes for no fuss getting around and all day wear. Seriously,I've worn these heels all day before.

This outfit is one that I can wear differently with a pair of comfy flats at the office. And I might just do that. Happy Sunday!

Leave a comment on what you'd like to see next. I love to hear from you!

Faithfully,
Brieana.

Casual Friday: Sweats and Errands

Besides my trusty ACER laptop, this evening I'm armed with some orange juice,NyQuil, and a word to battle against this sinus infection that's attacking my eyes and ears! Being sick sucks, but the fabulous must continue to slay. I can do all things though Christ who gives me strength. And today,I had a slew of doctor's appointments to get myself together. And it wouldn't be a sick day if I didn't do it in sweats! Today's outfit featured all of my comfy cozy items "thrown" together to create this easy, yet not so breezy (chest cold beware) ensemble.

I got this sweater on clearance at Target. You know those racks as soon as you walk in the store? The ones that whisper "buy me"? Yeah those are the ones I frequent! Most of the items are on clearance,my 3rd favorite shopping word. The neck is a bit higher than the normal sweater, and the fabric has a very tight knit pattern, both things that I needed for my looming cold.

This leather jacket is one of my favorites and sadly,it will probably be the last time you all see it. If you haven't heard already, there's a big storm heading our way. And although it's warm,it's not warm enough for the likes of over a foot of snow. BURR! Either way,I scored this number from JC Penney's a few years back. Normally around the warmer summer months leading into the fall, they have outerwear GALORE for the low low! I couldn't have paid more than $25 for this number. The zipper isn't your run of the mill vertical up and down feature. This asymmetrical design makes for such cute layering! Im sad to see it go for the winter.
These H&M harem sweats made for the perfect lazy day. They offered just enough design for me to look put together, though I didn't feel that way. I'm just excited I could throw on sweat pants and run errands while still looking chic. It can be done ladies!

My matching pumps are from Charlotte Russe. They're not as tall as my usual stiletto wear,so they assisted in the lingering fatigue that won't quit.

Today's outfit reminded me of one important lesson:you look as good as you feel! And not to toot my own horn but,the easiness of this outfit paired with antibiotics and lots of liquids sure helped me feel my best. So by that logic, I must look good too!

Until next time
Brieana.

OOTD: Sweater Weather

Happy Sunday everyone! I come to you to day to boast the blessings of my mother's wardrobe and the opportunities I've been afforded to raid her closet day in and day out. I could probably do a whole post of things that have slowly migrated to my closet. She doesn't even remember they're hers half of the time. THANKS mom!

This sweater happened on a day of rummaging. It super comfy and I've done it dressed up and dressed down. One tip I can give for my budding fashionistas rummaging through a loved ones closet is to make sure its versatile. After all, if you're going to re-purpose mom's clothes, you may as well do it more than once!

I went for a minimalist look under the sweater, donning all black for the rest of the look. These caged heels are from my favorite shoe diva at Step N'Out On Faith Shoe Salon. These shoes have a a unique pattern and allow for the open feel, while still featuring a closed in toe, making them perfect for the colder winter weather. The patent leather jazzed up the ensemble a bit, and they are so so comfy!(believe it or not)  They run big, so I got them in my normal 8.5 shoes size (I normally purchase my heels in a size 9 to give me some breathing room).

I got this layered chain necklace from Step N' Out on Faith's partner in fashion on Main Street, Lindo Jewelry. What I love about this necklace is that it features a few different colors, making it very useful for my wardrobe. There's some silver, gold, and even a bit of bronze. They came with a matching pair of earrings, as many of her necklace sets do.

This neutral outfit is normally how I love to dress. Contrary to popular belief, blacks and neutral colors can pop just as much as a red or pink. How do you dress up your sweaters? Leave a comment below!

Faithfully,
Brieana.
