Beauty Blast: BeSkintiful MakeUp and Facial Bar

Chances are, you have a complaint or two about your skin – whether it’s age spots on your cheeks or varicose veins on your calves. All women want to put their best skin forward, but it’s hard when you’re coping with acne, varicose veins, age spots, moles and more. Aestheticians, also known as skin care specialists, cleanse and exfoliate, wax and laser, moisturize and apply makeup to enhance a person's overall appearance. A skin care specialist will first assess the condition of his or her clients' skin and make recommendations on what can be done to improve their skin quality. An aesthetician will also cleanse the skin, and in so doing, educate the client on which face washes, lotions and creams are best suited to him or her. Applying makeup is another piece of the job description, as is advising the client on a personalized skin care regimen.
Definitely not the top of the list on someone's medical needs--but certainly one that leaves you feeling fabulous. Lucky for us in the ABE area, one such shop of glamour has just arrived to save our skin from all of its faux paus.
I visited one of the newest Beauty Bars in the Lehigh Valley area that caters to all of these needs and more. BeSkintiful  Makeup and Facial Bar is your premiere stop shop for facials, make-up looks, and lash extensions. Run by licensed Aesthetician Jasmine Flemming, BeSkintiful is the only aesthetics salon located in the downtown Allentown area. I interviewed Jasmine (affectionately called Jassy by friends and family) about her hopes for BeSkintiful, and what's setting it apart from other beauty bars in the area.
What made you want to become an Aesthetician?
I really wanted to help women of color with skincare health. It's not something we do often enough, and simple things we do can increase our skin health for years.
What can we expect from your salon that's different from other salons in the area?
BeSkintiful is the only aesthetics salon downtown that services beauty needs from the face up. We pride our services on beautifying women through make-up and skincare. We also pride ourselves on being an affordable glam shop.
Affordable indeed! One of Jassy's most popular services are her lash extensions, extensions used to enhance the length, curliness, fullness, and thickness of natural eyelashes. The extensions may be made from several materials including mink, synthetic, or horse hair. Jassy's precision and cleanliness when applying these lashes is parallel to no other. BeSkintiful is currently doing a $25 special on lash extensions. Book them here.
Another plus to BeSkintiful? The aesthetics! Literally. The Spa was filled from room to room with personal glam touches. With 2 rooms dedicated to facials, its tough not to get lost after your personalized session. You can truly tell that there was love and though put into each detail, further adding to the customer service BeSkintiful strives for.

Located at 513 W.Linden St,  BeSkintiful is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Make an appointment, or just drop in. Your skin will thank you!

OOTD: Meet me in Miami

Happy Monday folks! I hope you all had a blessed and productive weekend, doing all of the things you set your hearts out to do in 2017. Personally,I was continuing to live out my dreams in Miami, as I had the honor or representing all of the fabulous curvy/plus girls of Los Angeles in the Miss Fashion Week Universe competition. All of the beautiful contenders (runway, petite, plus, and international) convened in sunny Miami beach to compete for the reigning title as Queen for the year 2018. It was a whirlwind experience to say the least, and although I didn't win, my Quneedom reigns on for the year of 2018. Catch me in LA soon.

Along with the competition this weekend, were many photo opportunities. My sponsor and mangers had us in all of the right locations to slay!

My favorite photoshoot wardrobe item? These "Prissy Pants" I purchased from TNicoleBoutique. These were an awesome combination of business casual and comfort!

Ruffle Top:Similar

There was plenty to do in Miami. With all of the networking, meetings, and traveling, I needed to be cute, comfy, while meaning business. This red pair allowed for the chic vibe I needed, with an awesome stretch in the waist in addition to the gold buttons. The flared legs allowed for the breezy Miami air to vent through.

Paired with this Off-the-shoulder top from Ashley Stewart(currently sold out), I was ready to hit the streets of Miami, destined to make some connections.

What's your favorite "Girl Boss" look? Comment or post a picture below!

Blogger Chronicles: Lehigh Valley Fashion Week

One of my biggest conerns related to starting a blog was being...extra , for a lack of a better word. When I say this, I mean that I wasn't 100% comfortable walking around in bright yellow stilettos half of the time, or that contrasting colors in one outfit wasn't acceptable everyday wear. But this weekend, I was shown that I could do it, and I was shown where to find it. Moral of the sptry: DAMMIT, be fabulous

This past weekend, I had the awesome opportunity to moonlight as a blog correspondent and plus sized model for the 2ND Annual Lehigh Valley Fashion Week in Allentown, PA. This event was truly one of a kind, as it paid homage to some of the most beautiful and unique fashions in "The Valley." Hailing from the Poconos for the past 10 years, this was HUGE, as we're not used to doing too much besides a nice peplum top and a 5 inch heel (if we're feeling really frisky).

The show featured deisgns from designers of local boutiques such as Abundant Style (my personal favorite), Cat's Meow, Dartanya, Clotheversity, and Clothes Mentor, to name a few. All of the fashions ranged from casual to dressy, while many of the fashions featured edgy designs for the upcoming Spring and Summer 2016 seasons.

One of the newer features of the show? US!!! And by us I mean the curvy. The full figured and fabulous plus sized models. Last year's show featured straight models in dressy, formal, and swimwear. This year's line-up threw a curve-ball (literally) with a diverse line-up of beautfiul ladies flaunting all of their God-given assets on the runway in styles such as jeans by Melissa McCarthy and Michel Kor's. All of the fashions were sure to hug our curves in just the right places, while being kind to our pockets.

Other new faces this year were the children's scenes, where girls as young as 5 years old (being fashionable has NO limit) modeled pieces from local designers.

Lehigh Valley Fashion Week will be gracing our catwalks and social media platforms for a 2nd run sometime in August. There will be more behind-the-scenes looks as well as updates on upcoming promotional events. You can also check Lehigh Valley Fashion Week's Facebook page for links to their fabulous deisgners and models. Don't forget to subscribe to my page for more updates on the fly and fashionable of the Valley!
